Fusionworks Youth Ensemble

Picture
The Fusionworks Youth Ensemble is a pre-professional company experience and is the highest level of study at Dancing Legacy's affiliate Fusionworks Dance Center.
Fusionworks Dance Center students are admitted to the Fusionworks Youth Ensemble (FYE) by audition. FYE dancers learn, rehearse, and perform works by master choreographers; have dances set on them by contemporary dance artists; and create their own dances. They also engage in collaborative activities with Dancing Legacy’s network of professionals and community members, uniting the students with the broader field of dance. In addition to their annual concert, they perform year-round on mini-tours throughout the region. These types of  pre-professional experiences are rare in studio settings and unprecedented for students of this age.

  • Technique classes in ballet and modern with jazz and/or tap, designed for curious learners who want to incorporate the values of dance training into their lives
  • Enrichment curriculum, providing an opportunity for students to not only learn physical material, but also fully develop their understanding of dance in the context of the world today
  • Repertory rehearsals for students to study and perform dance masterworks, including Repertory Etudes
  • Improvisation and composition sessions for students to work on their own choreography
  • Performances throughout the year
