Dancing Legacy directs our School @ Fusionworks Studio, bringing American dance heritage to the studio setting. Fusionworks was founded by Deb Meunier and has offered the finest in Rhode Island dance education for children and adults since 1978. Dancing Legacy continues the Fusionworks philosophy to nurture individual and creative thinking skills in a warm environment of discipline and encouragement, seeing the dance studio as a classroom for the larger lessons of life: self-knowledge, respect, discipline, humility and most of all, kindness and compassion.
Early education (ages 3 through 7) builds a foundation with many opportunities for expression: smiling, jumping, giggling and creating. Formal study (ages 8 through teen) encourages joy while developing technical skills with as much exposure to dance as desired, exploring multiple styles. Adult education welcomes anyone to walk through the doors with relaxed classes open to all levels. Students participate in fully-produced performances, with additional opportunities for teens to perform in showcases and community settings. In all classes, Dancing Legacy works to instill an understanding of dance as a dynamic and rich art form as well as a key piece of our collective cultural heritage.
Because of the pandemic, the school is not currently running in-person classes. However, Dancing Legacy continues to maintain the Fusionworks Studio as its geographical homebase and to use the studio in various ways to generate and disseminate educational opportunities.
