COVID-19 Guidelines
The well-being of the Dancing Legacy community is paramount. It is our goal to keep everyone who enters our building dancing through the whole year. In order to limit disruptions to dance education, we have developed the following COVID-19 guidelines.
We recognize that members of our community have different risk levels and interact with populations that vary in terms of vulnerability. In response, we have included some “out-of-the-box” approaches.
Mask Requirements (differ depending on the day of the week)
Hybrid Option
Personal Items
Cleaning Protocols
Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures (the lobby is closed to all but students and faculty)
Managing Fluctuations

We recognize that members of our community have different risk levels and interact with populations that vary in terms of vulnerability. In response, we have included some “out-of-the-box” approaches.
Mask Requirements (differ depending on the day of the week)
- Monday, Tuesday, Friday: masks required for all students and faculty in all classes
- Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday; masks optional for Children's Program students, Youth (Open and Company Track) students, and vaccinated adults; masks required for unvaccinated adults
Hybrid Option
- Please contact us if you would prefer to take your weekly class on Zoom.
- If a student has been asked to quarantine (by us or others) or is exhibiting symptoms (but well enough to dance), the student can join remotely.
- Students are called upon to honor our Community Expectations when participating remotely.
Personal Items
- Students should leave dance bags in the car/at home.
- Students (except Company Track) need to bring only a pre-filled water bottle with their name on it and relevant uniform clothing into the building.
- Shoes that are easy to get on and off are highly encouraged.
Cleaning Protocols
- Students and faculty will wipe down the barres at the end of each class; students will assist with other cleaning as needed.
- Students should use the bathroom at home/school before arriving at the studio to minimize the potential for sharing germs.
- We will promote good and appropriately frequent hand hygiene.
Drop-off and Pick-up Procedures (the lobby is closed to all but students and faculty)
- Children’s Program: Wait near the stairs and the teacher will direct you into the building two families at a time. Escort your student in, assist with removal of shoes/coats and exit through the rear door. (See flow chart.) Please remain in the vicinity and we will call you if your student needs you during class. We will repeat this process for pick up.
- Youth (Open and Company Track): For drop off, students enter the building on their own (either from their cars or parents/caregivers may escort students to the bottom of the stairs). For pick up, parents/caregivers wait near the bottom of the stairs and teachers will let the students out as they see parents/caregivers. We may ask for ID if a new person is picking up your student for the first time.
Managing Fluctuations
- We are closely monitoring rates and factors in our area and will adjust our guidelines accordingly.
- If there is a case at our studio, we will reference the CDC Guidelines to determine close contacts and subsequent quarantine and isolation requirements.
Community Commitments
- All families are different and make different decisions regarding their children. We expect everyone in our community to respect individual family choices.
- We trust all parents/caregivers to be prudent when assessing if a student is healthy enough to attend class in person. We are counting on your accurate evaluation and ask that everyone remain diligent to avoid any disruptions in learning.
