Professional Development
Dancing Legacy generates Repertory Etude volumes: multi-media tools that support and enrich Repertory Etude teaching. We develop these resources with partners and members of our Educators Cohort (described below), jointly leading pilot programming, creating contextual materials and curriculum guides, and producing documentary, instructional, and performance videos.
Dance is still most powerfully transmitted person-to-person, with technological tools enhancing, but not replacing that intimate encounter. We train dancers to teach Repertory Etudes through a reflective, dynamic practice that communicates the techniques and styles of the choreographers. Our training is currently individualized and by invitation. |
Educators Cohort
Dancing Legacy's Educators Cohort is made up teachers from across the globe. It is a reciprocal relationship in which Cohort members experience our approach and methodology first hand and can then take those same approaches into their settings to refine them on their own over time. Dancing Legacy in turn gets to develop and pilot material on the Cohort for our own residencies, mini-courses, gatherings, and school. The training that they receive from us thus resembles that of master/apprentice rather than student/institution. They learn with us experientially over time and are an integral part of the Dancing Legacy community. |
